MACH AERO PARTNERS Calls for Digital Innovation to Strengthen Africa’s Aviation IndustryNAIROBI, Kenya – September 10, 2026

 Africa’s aviation industry must urgently address rising insurance premiums, critical skills shortages and fragmented airspace if the continent is to expand its share of global air traffic, delegates heard during an international aviation summit in Nairobi.
Speaking at the summit, Faude Adanhounsounou of MACH AERO PARTNERS said Africa’s aviation sector must move beyond simply increasing capacity and focus on making existing and future infrastructure more efficient, resilient and competitive.
“The question is no longer only how to develop more aviation capacity, but how to make existing and future capacity more efficient, resilient and competitive,” Faude said.
Through MACH AERO PARTNERS, Faude is championing the use of aviation expertise, strategic thinking, innovation and digital technologies to help industry stakeholders turn structural challenges into measurable business value.

He said technologies including artificial intelligence, data analytics, digital knowledge management and smart operational solutions can play a critical role in transforming Africa’s aviation ecosystem.
According to Faude, these solutions can help airlines, airports, maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) organisations and aviation authorities to:
Reduce operational disruptions and costs;
Improve safety and aircraft availability;
Develop and retain critical aviation skills;
Turn data into faster and better-informed decisions; and
Strengthen competitiveness and investment readiness.
Faude said Africa should not necessarily seek to replicate aviation models developed in other parts of the world, arguing that the continent has an opportunity to develop solutions that respond directly to its unique operational, economic and infrastructure realities.
“Africa does not necessarily need to replicate aviation models developed elsewhere. It has the opportunity to build a more connected, digital and innovative aviation ecosystem adapted to its own realities,” he said.
The push for digital transformation comes as African aviation stakeholders seek to unlock the continent’s significant aviation potential amid growing demand for air connectivity, regional trade and tourism.
Faude said stronger collaboration between aviation stakeholders, combined with smarter use of technology and data, could help the sector overcome structural barriers while creating new opportunities for sustainable growth.
MACH AERO PARTNERS is positioning itself at the intersection of aviation, innovation and digital transformation, with a focus on helping aviation businesses and institutions translate emerging technologies into practical solutions and measurable business value.
