MALASIAN HIGH COMMISSION PARTNERS WITH ENAF TO BOOST KENYA-MALAYSIAN EDUCATION TIES.

The High Commission of Malaysia in Nairobi has teamed up with ENAF to strengthen educational cooperation between Malaysia and Kenya, with a focus on expanding opportunities for Kenyan students.

On 31 March 2026, the High Commission co-hosted the “Study in Malaysia” Education Expo at its Chancery premises. The event brought together Malaysian higher learning institutions and Kenyan education stakeholders to promote academic exchange and partnerships. 

The expo is part of ongoing efforts to deepen bilateral ties in education, one of the priority areas identified during Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim’s visit to Kenya in November 2025. Kenyan High Commissioner to Malaysia, Ekitela Moru, noted that education and people-to-people links are key pillars of the growing partnership. 

Malaysia has been positioning itself as a hub for affordable, quality higher education, while Kenya looks to Malaysia’s development model for inspiration in inclusive growth and skills development. Discussions during the expo highlighted opportunities for student mobility, joint programs, and recognition of qualifications between the two countries. 

The collaboration also aligns with broader talks on mutual recognition of academic qualifications. Kenya’s National Qualifications Authority has been engaging with the Malaysian Qualifications Agency to formalize cooperation on credit transfer, recognition of prior learning, and academic standards. 

Officials say the partnership aims to make it easier for Kenyan students to study in Malaysia and for both countries to benefit from shared expertise in education and training.
