Eng. David Evans Jomeli, P.E., MIEK: Leading Lamu's Roads and Structural Works Agenda


LAMU/NAIROBI, KENYA – Eng. David Evans Jomeli, P.E., MIEK, Chief Engineer for Roads and Structural Works at the County Government of Lamu, continues to distinguish himself as one of the Coast region's leading engineering professionals, championing sustainable infrastructure development and technical excellence.
Eng. Jomeli was among the distinguished engineering leaders who attended the Association of Consulting Engineers of Kenya (ACEK) Annual Presidents Dinner held on Friday, 26 June 2026, at PrideInn Azure Hotel, Nairobi. The prestigious event brought together senior engineers, policymakers, regulators, development partners, and industry stakeholders to discuss the future of consulting engineering and infrastructure development in Kenya.
As Chief Engineer for Roads and Structural Works, Eng. Jomeli is responsible for overseeing the planning, design, implementation, and supervision of critical road and structural infrastructure projects across Lamu County. His leadership is instrumental in advancing infrastructure that supports the county's economic transformation while preserving its unique cultural heritage, tourism assets, and strategic importance under the LAPSSET Corridor Development Programme.
The ACEK Annual Presidents Dinner featured presentations and remarks from ACEK Future Leaders Chair Elvis Alwala, Eng. Yolanda Muyonga, and a keynote address by ACEK President Eng. Gabriel Jabongo.
